Fixing Mesh to Diaphragm Carries Major Risks

A new report warns surgeons to use caution when anchoring mesh to the diaphragm after discovering 15 cases of cardiac tamponade caused by mesh fixation to the diaphragm. Eight patients died as a result of the complication, according to the report.
